Private Pilot Certification

The estimated cost of our FAA Part 141 approved 35 hour all-inclusive program is $6,307. However, according to the AOPA and FAA, most students will fly more than 70 flight hours before they are ready to take the Private Pilot Practical Exam, or "Check Ride". Therefore, most pilots should expect to spend approximately $9,000 to become a Private Pilot in one of our late model Cessna 172R Skyhawks. Costs will be lower if you wish to train in one of our Classic Cessna 172 Skyhawks. The actual time required to complete the course will vary according to a student's ability, dedication, training schedule, and English language skills.

Wright Flyers' program for Private Pilot certification is designed to provide knowledge of the aeronautical environment, and a level of flight training that are well above the standards required to pass the FAA written exam and practical flight test.

Our computerized multi-media ground school course makes learning fast and fun. Cessna's CBI (Computer Based Instruction) program covers an extensive amount of subject matter, providing the student a thorough background in the principals of flight, aircraft systems, navigation, meteorology, aeronautical decision-making, and Federal Aviation Administration regulations.

Wright Flyers' primary flight training syllabus begins with preflight procedures, and basic maneuvers such as straight & level flight, turns, climbs, descents, takeoffs, and landings. Once the student is familiar with the aircraft and has mastered essential skills, the training quickly progresses to advanced maneuvers that include, slow flight configurations, maximum performance takeoffs crosswind landings, emergency landings, stalls, and flight with reference to instruments. During this time the student will have acquired the knowledge, and confidence, necessary for solo flight, which is one of the most rewarding and memorable experiences in the life of an aviator.

The final stage of the training process gives the student valuable experience in cross country flight, radio navigation, unusual attitudes, night operations and FAA Practical Flight Test standards. After passing the check ride with the FAA Designated Examiner, the student is ready to fly with all the privileges granted by the Private Pilot Certificate.
